Pessimism Still Reigns Supreme, And Thatās A Good Thing š
Professional investors are still doing plenty of handwringing and fretting over economic uncertainties.
In a recent Wall Street Journal article, one investor fretted that strong jobs data means that the Fed wonāt be able to cut interest aggressively:
āIf more people are working and theyāre getting paid more, that doesnāt present a great argument for rate cuts.ā
Another investor advocated exposure to treasury bonds ābecause theyāre a hedge against things breakingā š”ļø
Another is worried about inflation:
āThe data is still supportive of strong consumer spending, employment, government spendingāall things that keep the economy humming along,ā said Andy Constan, chief executive of Damped Spring Advisors, a consulting firm for macro hedge funds.
āThe question is whether inflation stabilizes at too-high a level. I suspect it willā š
These are the identical set of concerns that have kept investors on the sidelines since early mid-2022.
These concerns mean that there is lots of cash that still needs to be invested into the stock market if the economic data continues to come in better than expected, which seems like a good bet šµ
Trump Is Not A Threat To Democracy ā
Everywhere you turn, youāll hear people say that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.
Donald Trump is absolutely not a threat to democracy šļø
He served in office for four years and our democratic institutions were not in jeopardy any more than they were under any other president.
Our founding fathers understood that the natural inclination of powerful men is to accumulate power in their own hands, and they constructed a resilient system of checks and balances that constrains would-be tyrants.
Regardless of Trumpās or any other presidentās desires, our democracy is not in jeopardy.
Any argument to the contrary is made by those engaged in self-deceit šµā

Israel Is Winning ā”ļø
You may have missed it amid the mediaās progressive agenda and its manipulation of the facts, but Israel is winning the war in Gaza š„
Hamasās losses are mounting and international support for the Israeli war effort has endured far longer than Hamas or Iran expected.
The war is far from over, but Hamas faces an advance on all sides and Israel is now fighting below ground in the tunnels in force āļø
Israel needs time to achieve victory, and Hamas is counting on Western powers to deny it that time.
None of the Arab countries have called for a ceasefire because they all quietly root for Israel to destroy Hamas.
The greatest threat to an Israeli victory comes from the risk that Biden feels pressure from his progressive base to force Israel to end the war.
Any hopes for geopolitical stability must begin with a resounding defeat of Hamas š„
