The Fed Won’t Make An Emergency Cut And Here’s Why Not ❌

The Fed rarely cuts interest rates in between officially scheduled meetings.

The last time it resorted to an emergency move was March 2020, in the midst of the Covid crisis when the global economy was melting down.

The time before that was 2008, in the midst of the Great Financial Crisis when the housing market and banking sector were on the verge of collapse.

Unless we see a market meltdown, which is very unlikely, expect the Fed’s first interest rate cut to come on September 18 at the next FOMC meeting 📅

The big question is whether they will cut by 0.25% or 0.5%, and that depends on the economic data in the weeks ahead.

Who Kamala Harris Didn’t Choose And Why It Matters ✔️

Until a few days ago, Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania, was the front runner to be Kamala Harris’ VP.

He was the logical choice.

PA is the most important swing state in the country.

Was Monday’s 3% Stock Market Sell-Off A Black Swan Event? 🦢

Some are calling the dramatic decline on Monday a Black Swan.

Nassim Taleb, author of the book “Black Swan,” says that a Black Swan is a “very large, impactful deviation” that is also “outside the realm of expectation.”

In his assessment, Monday’s stock market decline “was not large nor particularly impactful” 🤷
